Doubleheaders Fall 2008
All Florida Professional Engineers are required to have completed eight (8) hours of continuing education prior to renewing their license for the 2008-2009 biennium. You can get all eight hours by attending any one of the Florida Section’s "Doubleheader" classes on:
September 25, 2008, in Sarasota, FL October 8, 2008, in Tallahassee, FL October 21, 2008, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL November 21, 2008, in Gainesville, FL January 8, 2009, in Orlando, FL.
Full registration details are here or register online. Each Doubleheader will consist of:
- Four hours on the Florida Engineer Registration Law and Rules of the Board of Engineers (required each biennium).
- Four hours on Green Building and Sustainable Development
Law and Rules will be presented by Ed Bayo, Esquire, of the Gray Robinson Law firm and Myron Hayden, Ph.D., P.E. of Environmental and Geotechnical Specialist.
Dr. Jennifer Languell, Trifecta Construction Solutions, will present on Green Building and Sustainable Development.
All three are highly interesting and informative speakers and will provide information you can use to improve your practice.

FLORIDA PEs Need 8 PDH Hours By FEBRUARY 29, 2009 You may earn PDHs, which are nationally recognized units of record, by attending the Doubleheader. Please note that there are differences from state to state in continuing education requirements for professional engineering licensure. Each state licensing board has the final authority to approve course, credits, PDHs, and other methods of earning credits in that state. Florida Section ASCE strongly recommends that individuals regularly check with their state licensing boards for specific continuing education requirements in their jurisdictions that affect professional engineering licensure and the ability to renew licensure.
