ABOUT US

The Florida Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers is the third largest ASCE section in the Country. The Florida Section, consisting of 13 Branches, 18 technical institute chapters and technical groups, 11 Student Chapters and over 7,000 members, was founded in 1929 and is one of the most active sections within the Society.  The South Florida Section is no longer, but is not forgotten; founded in 1926, it was merged with the Florida Section in 1999, and continues on with us as the Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, and Southwest Branches.

Mission

The mission of the Florida Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers is to advance professional knowledge and improve the practice of civil engineering. Today's civil engineer uses every advantage to meet the demands of their profession. American Society of Civil Engineers pioneers new programs, policies, educational activities and professional resources to help engineers successfully compete in their business. That's why today's civil engineer has a home at the ASCE Florida Section.

If you are a current member, we encourage you to get involved with your local branch and invite you to explore opportunities to engage at the Section level. If you are not currently an ASCE member, we encourage you to JOIN NOW! Membership offers numerous advantages to professional civil engineers, associates and related professionals. WHAT WE DO

Member Education

We support and enrich our members through regular education programs including our Annual Conference, Doubleheader events and our partnership with the Society's online education programs.

Student Outreach

We grow the Civil Engineers of tomorrow through our many education and outreach programs including our Engineering Encounters bridge design competition, educational grant support, Student Chapter support and the ASCE Florida Section Past President's Scholarship program.

Engineering Champions

We are Engineers that support the importance cause of championing infrastructure investment through the publication of the Report Card for Florida's Infrastructure and regular participation in Legislative outreach activities.
